I found this amazing piece at a local sawmill which they got in trade for a different slab - it was assumed to be CA Redwood Burl and was preserved with wax so it had no smell. After working with it I noticed instantly powerful scents of licorice, cinnamon, and pine. After consulting a woodworker friend that knows his ginger woodgrains, I discovered its actually Camphor Burl rather than CA Redwood.
I created this cantilever table in a basic timeless form with minimal processing or added ornamentation of the natural materials allowing mother nature to tell her vibrant story.
