We've been commissioned by a family in Scottsdale to transform a bookmatch pair of Dutch Elm slabs into a built-in corner desk for their luxury condo. One leg of the desk is 94x21.5" while the other leg is 124.5x18". We've first tapered the back edge cuts to create a better match at the mitered cornered, then took the backside cutoff to create an extension for the narrower side of the desk to fit their space with room for two cabinets under each side. The extension piece and the corner miter joint are secured with mechanical domino joints allowing for the piece to be removable.

We just completed color finish options for our clients in natural, dark walnut to match cabinets, and white wax for bright contrast which results in a almost raw color. The client chose the white wax finish.
