We recently secured two giant slabs of local grown reclaimed urban Red Gum Eucalyptus with full burled edges for a custom dining table build for the same customers we are building the burl coffee table for. We will be cutting these into a large round dining table with a resin river flowing through the center. Our bookmatched carob end grain live edge coffee table sold so quickly we decided to do a similar build from these bookmatched Mesquite Burl end grain slices. We were extremely lucky to find these incredible slabs of Alligator Juniper from the high desert here in Arizona. This tree was charred in the Dude fire just outside of Payson in 1990 and died standing until found recently and reclaimed by a local sawyer. We've been commissioned by Tim at Relics to create a custom live edge built in desktop and live edge coffee table. We're starting with 1 large Maple live edge slab which will give us both separate tops once trimmed to size. All wood surfaces are to be bleached and dyed a light soft grey tone. Large Walnut Live Edge C-Table

We started this build with intent to save this really cool piece of highly figured Claro Walnut. This top started as a cut-off from a much larger slab, but was cupped and twisted badly with an unstable bark void. In attempt to save and do the wood the most justice we filled and stabilized the slab with black resin and flattened it. As handmade artisan furniture continues to rise in popularity we've started to see knock-offs... the "fast fashion" of the home decor manufacturers over seas ripping off popular handmade styles that top the Pinterest boards and Instagram feeds.
