I created this large rustic modern coffee table from an urban reclaimed Shoestring Acacia tree. The slab top with waterfall was made from one of the large 2.25" thick slabs featuring a 3rd live edge with natural split at the crown of the tree. That split in the top is supported by a large plank leg cut from the matching "split" piece to openly support the shape of the top without interupting the visual flow. The cracks and open knots in the table surface and leg have been resin stabilized/filled and joined using mortise and tenon dominos for long term structural stability.
