We are exciting to be working on this project for the new Shop Phoenix Flea retail space at DeSoto Central Market in downtown Phoenix. We are building them a custom countertop for their cash wrap made from a pair of bookmatched slabs of Canary Island Pine. Unlike other common pine like Ponderosa, Canary Island is much more stable. These slabs are local grown reclaimed urban lumber.
After the slabs made a few passes through the planer and drum sander, we used our Festool TS75 track saw to make the long straight cuts before drilling for dowels and gluing up the panel.
